ATHLETICS DAY

Today it was athletics day!  The sun was shining and we had lots of fun at the Caledonian Sports Ground.  We got to try the discus, sprints, relays, shot put, long jump, 800 metre run, high jump, hurdles and an obstacle course.   Well done all of the children - what a great effort!  Also a special thank you to the 10 children who ran in the Room 11 class relay.  You were awesome!

RHYTHM INTERACTIVE

Today we went into the hall and got to play the drums as part of a 'Rhythm Interactive' show.  It was lots of fun!

FAREWELL TO MRS TOWNS

On Tuesday we had a special farewell assembly for Mrs Towns because she is retiring.  Mrs Towns has worked in our school office for 31 years!  Each class made her a special card and gave her a flower.  Bodhi and Lilly went up on stage for our class and delivered the goodies to Mrs Towns.

ATHLETIC SPORTS

At the end of this term we will be having a sports day at the Calendonian Sports Grounds.  To prepare for this we have been participating in rotations of lots of different athletic activities.  We are learning about long jump, high jump, sprints, relays, discus and hurdles.

WEARABLE ART SUPERSTARS…. WE MADE IT ON TV!

PRESENTING PLAYS

In Room 11 we love presenting plays to the class.  Today the 'Super Terriers' reading group shared a play called 'Molly's Messy Desk'.  It was very entertaining!

FITNESS TIME

We have had more people teaching us lots of fun new fitness games.  Thanks to Sasha, Sissi, Bhavya and Georgie for their great ideas and effort.

SYMMETRICAL PICTURES

This week our optional extra for homework was to create a symmetrical picture.  Look at the beautiful butterfly Freya painted and the awesome shape picture Neva made on the computer.

WEARABLE ART FUN

On Tuesday we spent the whole day working on our 'Wearable Art' creations.  We had some wonderful parents who came along and helped us.  We used all the items we had collected as well of lots of tape, glue and paint.  We just have a few more enhancements to make and then our creations will be finished.  We are very excited and proud of what we have made!

A BUSY, CREATIVE WEEK IN ROOM 11

This week we have been extra busy!  We have started creating "Wearable Art" for our show next week.  We gathered heaps of materials and used our designs to begin our costumes.  There was heaps of mess in our classroom but it was lots of fun.  We will put photos of our creations on the blog when we are finished.  Watch this space!
