COMPASSION IN ACTION - SPCA Donation

Today we had a special visitor to our Middle Team assembly.  Steph from the SPCA brought her dog along to see us.  The Crafty Fun Elective group told her about their fundraising and gave her a cheque for $201.70.  We also gave her a big box of pet food.  The dog thought this was awesome!

THEO TEACHES US TO COUNT IN FRENCH

Theo's Learning Commitment was to teach the class how to count to 10 in French.  Awesome work Theo!  Here is his lesson…

CONGRATULATIONS OLIVIA!

Congratulations to Olivia who is the very first person in Room 11 to be part of the 100 Lap Club.  Olivia has been training really hard and will be one watch in the Cross Country next Tuesday.  We will be cheering for you Olivia!

WELCOME TO TERM 3

Welcome to Term 3!  What a fun term we are going to have.  The Room 11 newsletter was sent home on Monday to tell you about all the great learning activities we will be doing this term.

FISH OBSERVATION

Since we could not go to the Salmon Hatchery, Mrs McCulley bought in lots of different fish for us to look at.  There was Salmon, Flounder and Anchovies.

We also looked at Shrimp and compared them to the fish.

We worked in groups and recorded our observations and sketched what we saw.  It was really interesting as well as a bit gross!  We have learnt lots of information about fish this term!

SASSY VISITS ROOM 11

For Madi's Learning Commitment she made a poster about her dog Sassy.  She also bought Sassy in to visit us.  Madi told us all about her and we got to give her pats.  Thanks for sharing Sassi with us Madi.

FUNKY DRAGONFLIES

We made some amazing black and white dragonflies.  They are up on the wall outside our classroom.  Come and check them out!

END OF TERM DRAMA PERFORMANCE

At the end of each term, there is a special performance involving all children who attend drama classes on a Tuesday afternoon.  Well done to Ruby who performed with her group to recite and dramatise a verse.  We were also entertained by Neva, Katarina and Georgie who performed in "The Gruffalo" (a dramatisation of the picture book).  Keep up the great work girls.
